Victoria Beckham: ‘I belong in fashion’. The English businesswoman, fashion designer and former Spice Girls believes her place to be is fashion. She reveals that she has found her calling in life and has much determination to expand her ”empire” in the future. She said she feels thrilled over what she has accomplished through the last year and truly believes it’s what she’s meant to be doing in life.
”I love fashion. I really feel like it’s where I belong. There’s a lot I’d like to do. I’d like to expand my empire. I’m very lucky to have a job that I love.”
The thirty nine year old had walked walked away with the Woman of the Decade award at the annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards last night, June 4, 2013 kicking off kicked off her career in 2006 by launching a denim line entitled ‘dvb’ as she does design for the top end market revealing that she wants to create a high street line at some point in the future.
Speaking to Glamour magazine, she explained:
”Maybe at some point [I will collaborate with the high street] but not right now because I have a lot going on and I’ve got four children, but absolutely [at some point I will]. I think the high street is great.”
She is now more recognized as a style icon than a singer goes onto say that she feels a buzz when she sees other woman wearing her dresses, she would like to see them feel good and have confidence in the clothes they wear. She added:
”I love women and I want to empower women to feel good about themselves. Seeing any women in my dresses is exciting whether it is Jourdan Dunn… or whether it is someone that I pass by on the street who isn’t a supermodel, it’s still exciting.”
Victoria Beckham does feel guilty over being a working a Mom. The English businesswoman known formerly for being on the Spice Girls has revealed that her jet-setting lifestyle is tearing her part between her career and to be a parent.
“I think you feel so torn, don’t you?” Victoria, 39, said about being a working mom.
“But I’ve got great people who handle my schedule and everything does revolve around the children.
“So, if there’s a parents’ night or an Easter bonnet parade or a nativity play, whatever it might be, then I plan everything around that so I can always be there.
“My children are my priority and always have been.
“I’m up early in the morning doing spelling tests and maths quizzes before the school run, then up late with a baby and a 14-year-old who refuses to go to bed -Brooklyn.
“I love having children in the office. Mine are always running around.
“I had one of those swingy chairs for Harper in my office and she’d bounce one way and swing into a roll of fabric and then bounce the other way and crash into a bag of samples.
“I’m nice! Everyone thinks I’m going to be a cow.
“I understand it actually. I think the same when I see the pictures.”
