American television and film actress Jessica Alba will soon release ‘The Honest Life’ a how to handbook based on her missing of creating a natural, non-toxic life for her family.
“It’s totally crazy but amazing,” Alba tells PEOPLE of her book news, adding of her lifestyle, “I’m not extreme. This book is for people who are in the middle but want to create a healthier life, like me.”
She had recently started her first business called ‘The Honest Company’ along with her business partner and Co-author Christopher Gavigan. Now her book will be about her life as a other and entrepreneur trying to give her children Honor who is three years old and haven who is seven months a better and safer start in life.
The Honest Life will offer tips on how to create a non-toxic home, from design tips to some of Alba’s favorite family recipes.
“Honor’s favorite meatball recipe will be in there,” says her mom.
“And I always hide flax seeds in everything,” she explains, keeping it healthy but still tasty for her two girls.
“It will be easy and fun and I want it to be really colorful,” says Alba. “I’m a crazy foodie. I love doing projects with my kids. Everything in this book will be something meaningful that I’ve incorporated into our lives. I wanted some kind of handbook with all the information I was consuming so I could apply it in a practical way.”

In the issue Jessica talks her e-commerce company The Honest Company (honest.com):
“When I [was pregnant the first time] and started shopping in stores and online, it was just horrific seeing all these toxic chemicals [in baby products], which can contribute to everything from cancer to autism. I wanted to come up with one brand people could trust. You can have baby items that are cute and eco-friendly, with delivery right to your door.”
She talks her new animated film Escape From Planet Earth:
“The style of acting for an animated film is much more over-the-top, whether you’re trying to be dramatic or funny. And when you hear your voice [coming from an animated character], it’s bizarre. [You think,] That’s what I sound like to people?”
She also talks her changing fashion style:
“I didn’t use to wear a lot of color. I guess I’ve been more adventurous with my style and clothes choices since I’ve become a mother. It doesn’t feel as heavy or as big of a deal. Before, I was incredibly bashful and shy. When I was younger, I was really uncomfortable in dresses and high heels or anything like that. Over the years, I’ve embraced a more feminine side.”
