‘Donna Summer’ Disco Legend Has Died, She Was Sixty Three! (Video)

Disco singer Donna Summer has passed away just this morning in Key West, Florida. Summer was just sixty three years old, this is what family sources have told the Associated Press . She had been trying to fight cancer for some time now.

“Early this morning, we lost Donna Summer Sudano, a woman of many gifts, the greatest being her faith,” reads a statement from the singer’s family. “While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy. Words truly can’t express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time.”

Summer was a five-time Grammy winner best known for smash hits including,

 ”I Feel Love,” “Love to Love You Baby” and “She Works Hard for the Money.”

Her collaborations with producer Giorgio Moroder in the the Seventies broke ground for dance music and have been hugely influential on electronic music in the decades since.

She had been born and raised in Boston singing in a church, she went on to major success during the disco era, scoring Number One pop singles with

‘History Channel’s Swamp People’ Star Has Lost His Life Today!

American reality series ‘Swamp People’ Mitchell Guist star has lost his life in Louisiana, very sad news. The show did broadcast back in 2010 on the History Channel. The show does follow day to day of many Cajuns living in the Atchafalaya River Basin swamp in Louisiana, USA who hunt American alligators for a living.

TMZ reports Guist was on his boat along the Belle River when he suffered a seizure.Some time early this morning he was found. He had been found early in St. Martin’s Parish, Louisiana. CPR attempts were unsuccessful.

Paramedics were called to the scene and Guist was taken to a nearby hospital. But it was too late. Mitchell is featured with his brother Glenn on History Channel’sSwamp People airing Thursdays at 9/8c. Photo Credit, www.nola.com.

‘Vidal Sassoon’ Has Died, He Was Eighty Four!

Vidal Sassoon (January 17 1928- May 8, 2012) who was widely recognized as a British hairdresser has passed away at the age of eight four years old. He was credited for the hair style called th ‘bob’. he has passed away of natural causes at his home in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles police spokesman Kevin Mailberger revealed officers went to Vidal‘s house in Mulholland Drive this morning where it was determined he had died of ”apparent natural causes”.

He said in a statement:

”It was of apparent natural causes and there is no crime scene. When the officers arrived there were family members at the residence.”

‘Beastie Boys’ Hit With Lawsuit Days After Death Of One Of Their Own, Adam Yauch!

American hip hop group Beastie Boys have been hit with a lawsuit just days after the death of their band member Adam Yauch. A music liable called Tuf America has submitted a lawsuit against the hip-hop group alleging the band illegally sampled Trouble Funk’s ‘Say What’ and ‘Drop The Bomb‘ on four of their early tunes.

‘The New Style’ and ‘Hold It, Now Hit It’ from their 1986 debut album ‘Licensed to Ill’ and ‘Car Thief’ and ‘Shadrach’ from their 1989 follow up record ‘Paul’s Boutique’. This according to AllHipHop.com, the lawsuit was submitted in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York on May 3, 2012.

Tuf America claims to have completed a sound analysis of the four tracks before filing the lawsuit, which also names Beastie Boys’ label Capitol Records as a defendant, and the company is now seeking a trial to determine the amount of damages.Yauch had founded the group’

Mike wrote on the group’s Facebook page:

”I know, we should have tweeted and instagrammed [blogged] every sad, happy and inspired thought, smile or tear by now. But honestly the last few days have just been a blur of deep emotions for our closest friend, band mate and really brother. I miss Adam so much.

”He really served as a great example for myself and so many of what determination, faith, focus, and humility coupled with a sense of humour can accomplish. The world is in need of many more like him. We love you Adam.”

‘Andy Griffith Actor (Goober) George Lindsey Dead, He Was Eighty Three!

‘‘The Andy Griffith Show’ (Goober Pyle) George Lindsey has died on May 6, 2012. The actor was eighty three years old and well known for his fame in ‘Hee Haw’.

At a press release from  Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home in Nashville said Lindsay died early Sunday morning after a brief illness. Funeral arrangements were still being made.

Lindsey told The Associated Press in 1985 that,

“America has grown up with me. Goober is every man; everyone finds something to like about ol’ Goober.”

‘Coldplay’ Honours Rap Legend Adam Yauch!

British rock band ‘Coldplay’ to honor ‘Beastie Boys’ Adam Yauch during a Hollywood show. They will play tribute with their performance of the hit (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!) in concert.

It was just hours after the tragic news hit about Yauch when the band had performed an acoustic rendition of the hip-hop classic at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday May 4, 2012 for a star-studded audience including Zach Braff, Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, Vanessa Hudgens and Gwen Stefani. Front man Chris Martin ended the track by singing,

“We’re sending all our love to the Beastie Boys.”

The music world was hit hard when the news hit the fan that Yauch lost his battle with cancer at the age of forty seven.

‘Dennis Quaid’s Wife Kimberly Puts Hold On Divorce!

‘The Day After Tomorrow’ actor Dennis Quaid’s wife puts the hold on the divorce. it does seem that his wife Kimberly Buffington-Quaid is not ready to let go of he husband, not yet.

TMZ has learned that on Friday Buffington-Quaid withdrew her divorce papers, which had been filed in early march, from her husband of seven years. Speculation is saying it could be due to dividing the assets, the original petition for the divorce petition, the actor’s wife of seven years asked for spousal support and for their community assets to be fairly divided.

The document also cited that while Buffington-Quaid would temporarily hold onto the family’s residence in Malibu and the Mercedes, the fifty seven year old actor would get the Cadillac Escalade and a condo — but they would share the family Range Rover. The couple also have twin boys together Thomas and Zoe.

‘Football Star’ Junior Seau Found Dead Apparent Gunshot!

American Football Legend Junior Seau has been found dead at his California home. The Oceanside police officials have now opened up an investigation for a possible suicide, this follows a shooting incident in the home of Seau‘s property on Wednesday May 2, 2012.

The forty three year old does leave behind three children and an Ex wife. In a lunchtime press conference, the sportsman’s devastated mother Luisa said,

“I don’t understand who would do this to my son but I pray to God, ‘Please take me… Leave my son,’ but it’s too late.”

A statement from the Chargers, where Seau played the bulk of his professional football, reads,

 ”Everyone at the Chargers is in complete shock and disbelief right now. We ask everyone to stop what they’re doing and send their prayers to Junior and his family.”

‘Martin Lawrence’ Files Divorce From Wife Shamika, Seeks Joint Custody Of Daughters!

Bad Boys’ actor Martin Lawrence has filed for divorce from his wife Shamicka, seeking custody of his two daughters. He and his wife are asking that their assets are to be divided under the terms of a prenuptial agreement.

The Big Momma’s House star cites the usual “irreconcilable differences” in his petition filed April 25, 2012,  in Los Angeles Superior Court. Lawrence who is now forty seven years old and Shamika had just been married for less than two years but they knew each other for fifteen years.

The couple together have two daughters age nine and eleven. The date of separation was listed as April 24, the day before the pair announced their split.

“Out of love and respect for one another we will continue to remain friends and raise our two beautiful daughters together,” they said in a joint statement released by his rep.
