Freida Pinto avoids mirrors. She is an Indian actress and model and she has no interest keeping on looking at her own appearance as she realizes that being beautiful can work against,
her when it comes to landing gritty roles, although she is keen to change people’s opinions of her in the industry.
The Slum Dog Millionaire actress, who acted as Latika alongside Dev Patel said.
”It’s not necessarily the way I see myself. In fact, I don’t even like to look at myself in the mirror.
”But I’m aware of the perception and I always say that if it’s because of that one line in Slumdog where Latika is described as ‘the most beautiful girl in the world’, then I have to do everything that I can to change that perception.”
The Mumbai native, at a young age, was interest in fashion,
she found herself a ”secret tailor” to help customise her clothes and create ”something wonderful for [her] to wear” when she grew up in India.
She also reveals receiving gifts from designers are great to receive as she feels
‘very lucky” when she is approached to wear their designs.
She told Net-A-Porter’s The Edit:
”I’m very lucky in that I’m given gifts all the time, but when you are given a dress to wear that’s fresh off the runway, you do feel very special.”
