Roseanne Barr Drops Depressing piece Of News

Rosanne Barr is going blind. The former sitcom Roseanne star revealed a bombshell, that she is starting to lose her vision. She has spoken out to The Daily Beast about a lot of subjects- Hillary Clinton (against), feminism (against), other comedians (she’s a big fan of Doug Stanhope, apparently)- but what sticks out the most is her eyesight. She has let all her fans know that she is suffering from macular degeneration and glaucoma,

and that eventually the condition will one day rob her of all vision.

“My vision is closing in now,” Barr explained. “It’s something weird. But there are other weird things. That one’s harsh, ’cause I read a lot, and then I thought, ‘Well, I guess I could hire somebody to read for me and read to me.’ But I like words and I like looking. You do what you have to do. I just try and enjoy vision as much as possible—y’know, living it up. My dad had it, too.”

But she’s got a secret weapon (well, not so secret really) to keep herself balanced. Marijuana. “It’s a good medicine, you know,” claims Barr.

“It’s expansive. It opens your mind. You’re like… Wow, you’re in awe. You look up into the stars. It makes you wonder. It doesn’t close that down.”
Barr added that marijuana also helps prevent “mind control,” as well.

More on Barr, she is an actress, comedian, writer, television producer, director, and 2012 presidential nominee of the California-based Peace and Freedom Party.

Surfer Blood Thomas Fekete Has Rare Cancer Fighting For His Life

Thomas Fekete has been diagnosed with Cancer. A member of the American alternative rock band from West Palm Beach, Florida, Surfer Blood has launched a Crowdfunding Campaign. Fekete is a guitar and backing vocals and on May 12, the group are preparing to release their album 1000 Palms, but sadly Fekete will not taking part in the promotion, and he is battling against serious health issues.

He’s been diagnosed with “a very rare and aggressive cancer,” and he’s seeking funds to help pay for the treatment.

Fekete has started a GoFundMe campaign and is seeking $76,000. In a statement, he revealed that he recently underwent surgery to remove a tumor from his abdomen. The disease has since spread to his lungs and spine.

He will be undergoing chemotherapy and has a team of doctors who are “extremely confident in an alternative treatment plan,” but this isn’t fully covered by his health insurance.

Fekete seems to be in good spirits, as he writes,

“I know this will soon be over like a bad dream.” As of press time, his GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $16,000. Check it out here.

His message,

A few months back I had a major surgery to remove a large tumor from my abdomen. I was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive cancer (a sarcoma), which, unfortunately, has moved. A few days ago, my doctors informed me that it had spread to my lungs and my spine.

The lesion on my lower spine will be treated with radiation, and I’ll also start chemotherapy this week. Because my cancer is so rare, there is very little research on it (cancer treatment is a business after all), so going to a typical doctor and getting loaded with all types of drugs would probably kill me. However, I found a doctor who is on the cutting edge of cancer treatments, and we have assembled a team of brilliant doctors who all seem to be extremely confident in an alternative treatment plan, to complement the chemotherapy. Because these doctors are doing things a bit differently, insurance will only cover a portion of my treatment. I never in my life thought that I would be asking for money publicly, but the universe works in funny ways.

Any bit of help would be massive for me, as I’m no longer able to tour and make a living, and my wonderful wife/best friend whom I just married in November will now be leaving work to help me throughout my treatment. If you can’t help, no worries whatsoever, all I ask is that you spread the word. Any extra funds collected when this is all said and done will be donated to further my doctor’s alternative cancer research. I not only feel great, but I am in great spirits, and I know this will soon be over like a bad dream. Please take care of yourselves, enjoy every single day. Life is beautiful. Love and light always.

Facebook message from Surfer Blood,

Thomas has been playing guitar in Surfer Blood for nearly 6 years, but since December has been sidelined by treatment for cancer. We miss him everyday on the road but we know he is incredibly strong and we have faith in him, and in his doctors. We hope you can help with a donation of any size, and help spread the word by sharing on social media. Thank you so much for the support!

Toto Mike Bassist Porcaro, 59 Dies From Long Health Battle

Mike Porcaro has died. He was a bassist for the American rock band Toto which is known for a musical style that combines elements of pop, rock, soul, funk, progressive rock, hard rock, R&B and jazz, at the time of Porcaro, he was fifty nine. It was his brother Steve Porcaro, Toto’s keyboardist , who announced the sad loss this morning following a long battle against ALS. He took to facebook,

stating that Mike “passed away peacefully in his sleep at 12:04 AM last night at home surrounded by his family.”

It was in 1983 when he joined his brothers Steve and Jeff in Toto, however in 2007 he was had no choice but to retire because of his illness, which is also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease,

it is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. It robs its victims of the ability to control muscle movement, starting with fine motor skills and continuing through daily activities most of us take for granted, such as walking or being able to speak. The general prognosis is grim, with most patients passing away within three to five years from the onset of symptoms.

Toto broke up soon after Porcaro’s retirement, but reformed a few years later partially to help pay for his medical expenses.

“[Keyboardist] Dave [Paich] called and said, ‘We’ve gotta do something – Mikey’s doing bad and his family needs some bread,’” guitarist Steve Lukather explained to UCR in 2013. Earlier today, Lukather posted his farewell to Porcaro on Facebook: “My brother Mike Porcaro is now at peace. I will miss him more than I could ever put into words. My deepest love to the family. God Bless.”
