Christina Grimmie is dead, The American singer, just twenty-two years old known for participating in the singing competition The Voice and her debut EP, Find Me was sadly shot and killed while at a concert. It is quite sad to be writing this today hearing of the tragic news that on June 10, 2016, she was just signing autographs when an unidentified male, who reportedly took his own life, when he was tackled by her brother, came up to her and shot her three times. Upon being hospitalized to save her life, she died within hours, news of her tragic untimely death was confirmed on June 11, 2016.
Responding to the news on Twitter, The Voice wrote,
“There are no words. We lost a beautiful soul with an amazing voice.”
Her coach, Adam Levine, wrote on Instagram,
“I’m sad, shocked and confused [by the shooting]. We love you so much Grimmie.”
Season 9 winner Jordan Smith tweeted,
“A star has been snuffed out. An amazing story unwritten.”
Finalist Amy Vachal was,
“shocked and heartbroken”. Before You Exit, with whom Grimmie had performed before the shooting, tweeted, “Today we lost an angel, sister, and a beloved friend.”
Today thoughts are with her family, friends, and The Voice contestants and coaches who met her, such sad and confused thoughts to why this would even happen.
Grimmie was a contestant on season six, police say the investigation is in its preliminary stages.
