Zelda Williams Explains Hummingbird Tattoo In The Memory Of Her Father

Zelda Williams got a tattoo in memory of her late dad, Robin Williams. The daughter of former Mork and Mindy star was called Zelda by her father after Princess Zelda of The Legend of Zelda video game series got a hummingbird in memory of Williams. The twenty five year old reveals that she got a permanent reminder of the much loved star who took his own life last year.

Explaining the meaning of the tattoo, she said:

“If you’ve seen them fly, and if you know a little bit about them, they’re impossible to keep in one place. Every time people see them it’s not like they say, ‘Oh my God, a hawk!’

“It’s a hummingbird, and that was the reaction that my father got, from children, from fans, from senior citizens, and that’s what hummingbirds always meant to me.”

Zelda also said that is not hard to remember her father because he is “impossible to forget”.

During a Beverly Hills rare red carpet appearance, she told People magazine: “For me it’s easy to continue remembering someone that is impossible to forget.”

When asked about stepping back into the spotlight, she added:

“It’s not difficult, it’s just a strange feeling. It’s okay, it’s going to be okay, but it is a transition.

“It’s acknowledging that you have to stop feeling that the outside world does not exist, because for a short while it doesn’t.”
