Mark Feehily is running a catering business. I remember the thirty five year old when was one of the lead singers of the Irish boy band Westlife and now he on the road to selling crepes and coffee out of a van for his living, which he is intending to get in his food truck and tour around UK festivals.
“It’s going really well, we’ve got loads of interest and we’ve booked it in with a lot of the music festivals and we’re talking about doing some Irish ones as well.”
When the band was popular between the years 1998 and 2012 they sold over fifty million record but now as they are longer a band, Feehily had been finding it hard on his own with music business success.
However, he insists he’s happy working in the catering industry.
He told Today FM:
“It’s my business and I love it, anything I get involved in I get involved 110 per cent.
“People were flabbergasted at the fact that I was in the van making crepes.
“People kind of have this thing ‘oh, he was in Westlife a few years ago and now he’s making tea’.
“A couple of Irish people came up and were like ‘wait a minute, what are you doing in a van?’
“I love festivals, so why not?”
More on Feehily, he rose to fame with the band having many successful .hits, and he sang completely solo on songs for the band in some instances:
“Imaginary Diva” (from the World of Our Own album)
“Moon River” (from the Allow Us to Be Frank album)
“Talk Me Down” (from the Where We Are album)
“Before It’s Too Late” (from the Gravity album).
During live performances, he also sang completely solo for the songs.
“Oh Holy Night”, “Imaginary Diva”, “Talk Me Down”, “Before It’s Too Late”, and “Il Adore”.
