Maureen O’Hara, 95, one of Hollywood’s most beautiful and talented actresses has sadly died. The Irish-American redhead film actress and singer, during her career, she was brilliant and stunning and she will be missed by many. The news was broken by her manager Johnny Nicoletti, who said she died in her sleep at her Boise, Idaho home, She also starred with another legendary star, John Wayne. In 1939, she was born in Dublin, and in a statement from her family she was feisty and fearless
“She was also proudly Irish and spent her entire lifetime sharing her heritage and the wonderful culture of the Emerald Isle with the world.”
Ireland’s President Michael D Higgins said
“she will be remembered as an outstanding and versatile actress, whose work, especially in the film, will endure for many years to come”.
What I remember the actress for, is starring in Miracle on 34th Street, the classic 1947 Christmas story, the Hunchback of Notre Dame and the Parent Trap.
Her family said she had died listening to music from the film.
