Ray Romano has honored his television son, following Sawyer Sweeten tragic suicide. The Everybody Loves Raymond in which Raymond star, played his father, Raymond on the sitcom. It was such shocking news for fans of the show when reported child star took his own life at the age of nineteen. Romano spoke out,
to honor the memory of his television son in the aftermath of his death.
“I am terribly saddened, by the news. He was a wonderful and sweet kid to be around,” Romano told the Daily Mail. “Just a great energy whenever he was there. My heart breaks for him, his family and his friends during this very difficult time.”
Sweeten’s TV mother Patricia Heaton previously spoke about his death after the news first broke.
“Sawyer Sweeten was a funny and exceptionally bright young man. He is gone from us far too soon,” the actress wrote on social media.
Sweeten was seen on he show between the ages of one and ten, also on he show was his twin brother Sullivan, and sister Madylin.
Madylin also spoke out after her brother’s death,
saying the family was devastated and asking for privacy and for people to reach out to those they love.
According to Sweeten’s agent, he said there were no warning signs before his suicide.
“He wasn’t doing drugs or anything like that,” said Dino May. “Just a great, very quiet, very shy kid. Teenage stuff, but no depression, no signs or anything.”
