Natalie Cassidy Is Engaged Following Abusive Past Relationship?

Natalie Cassidy is engaged. The award-winning British Soap actress, who portrayed Sonia Fowler in EastEnders and Marc Humphreys, a cameraman a rumoured to be heading to the altar to say their vows., one day. The thirty-two-year-old and her boyfriend have been in a relationship since the split of her abusive ex-fiancé Adam Cottrell relationship, The ex-couple do have a five-year-old together called Eliza

And now Britain’s The Sun newspaper claims Marc got down on one knee at the weekend (24Oct-25Oct15) a year after they first got together.

“Family and friends are thrilled for Natalie and have been buying gifts for them to celebrate,” the source told the publication while an EastEnders spokesperson added: “She is really happy.”

The couple met on the set of the soap opera and are often spotted out together looking loved up. It seems little Eliza is a fan of her future stepdad too. Natalie went through a tough time with Adam, who was charged with two offences of assault and another two of criminal damage when he turned abusive. He was sentenced to 120 hours’ community service in 2011.

Despite his violent outbursts, Natalie initially gave him a second chance before calling off their engagement for good. It’s certainly not a move she regrets, as she previously explained why trying to make things work was so important to her.

“It was my decision. I’m really glad I gave it another chance,” she said not long after their split. “When kids are involved you almost have to. I can always say to Eliza, ‘Mummy tried, but it didn’t work out.’”

Her daughter’s wellbeing is always her number one priority and Natalie admitted at the beginning of the year (15) that she isn’t keen for Eliza to be a child star like she was. Having been in the spotlight for so long, the actress doesn’t know what it’s like to not be stopped and recognised all the time.

“It’s not a bad thing, because I’m so used to it, but I’d like her to retain her anonymity,” the star previously noted. “I’d like her to have that for her life, really. I don’t want her to have what I’ve had.”

More on Cassidy, she was also on the sitcom, Psychoville and she was a Strictly Come Dancing.
