Leonard Nimoy, Star Trek Mr Spock, 83 Dies

Leonard Nimoy has died, sadly one of my favorite Star Trek stars has passed away. He was Mr Spock alongside William Shatner, Captain James T Kirk, I just loved seeing these two characters of the starship Enterprise exploring new worlds, Nimoy was eighty three years old. It was earlier this week when he had been hospitalized in Los Angles and I was hoping he would be okay, but his wife Susan Bay Nimoy, has confirmed to the the New York Times that he passed away of pulmonary disease,

which he attributed to a smoking habit he had ended 30 years ago.

Nimoy’s character he played was half-human, half-Vulcan and he was a perfect counterpart to Shatner’s character in the series.

He also appeared as “Spock Prime” in the 2013 film Star Trek Into Darkness, in which actor Zachary Quinto took on the role of Spock.

He last tweeted on Monday,

closing as he often did with Spock’s familiar line, “live long and prosper”:
