Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber is being sued over an alleged hit and run with a paparazzi, he reportedly hit him with a Ferrari. Well what he is now doing trying to convince the Los Angeles judge to dismiss the lawsuit that happened last year because his side of the story is that the photographer put himself in harm’s way by allegedly standing in front of a moving vehicle.
Walter Lee is suing the ‘Bieber’ amid claims he was left with serious injuries after he was struck by the singer’s Ferrari on the Sunset Strip on 17 June, 2013.
Bieber, who had just left the Laugh Factory comedy club with his pal Lil Twist, failed to notice he had allegedly sideswiped Lee, pinning him against another car, before driving off.
Authorities cleared the pop superstar of any wrongdoing after determining the photographer had been at fault for being a pedestrian in the roadway, and now Bieber’s lawyers are seeking to use the police findings in their defence.
His legal representatives have filed new papers in a bid to have the case tossed out of court, insisting Lee deliberately stood in front of Bieber’s car.
They have also poured doubt on the extent of Lee’s injuries, which the plaintiff previously claimed had included lacerations, hematomas and deep abrasions on his left leg, as the alleged victim was back on his feet days later, when he again pursued the singer to obtain paparazzi photos.
Lee is seeking damages to cover the cost of his hospital stay and other medical bills, but Bieber wants the plaintiff to foot the cost of the legal action if the judge rules in his favour, according to TMZ.com.
