Sophia Loren was given some pressure to fix her long nose. She has become an international film star and Italy’s most renowned and honored actress and she heard much talk about getting herself plastic surgery to fix her nose. At the age of fourteen, she started her career after entering a beauty pageant. The eighty year old who was born in the Clinica Regina Margherita in Rome, Italy the daughter of a construction engineer has revealed that it had been that movie executives that told her fixing certain parts of her face would make her more attractive on film.
“I always tried not to listen to these people.
“They were saying that my nose was too long and my mouth was too big. It didn’t hurt me at all because when I believe in something, it’s like war. It’s a battle.”
She also revealed that her husband during that time, film producer husband Carlo Ponti tried to get her to go under the knife.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, she explained:
[Carlo said,] ‘You know the cameramen, they say that your nose is too long. Maybe you have to touch it a little bit.’
“And I said: ‘Listen, I don’t want to touch nothing on my face because I like my face. If I have to change my nose, I am going back to Pozzuoli [her home town in Italy].’
“At that time, they used to do noses like a French nose with a little tip at the end – they liked that. Can you imagine me with a nose like that?”
