Selena Gomez doesn’t handle fame ‘well’. The star, who made her debut by appearing as Gianna in Barney & Friends believes she doesn’t know how to handle being famous. She has done many things during her career, she had cameo roles, movie roles and she has also done some singing but the twenty two year old became known in the spotlight when she was fourteen when she starred in ‘Wizards of Waverly Place‘ says that her last twelve months have proven to be an important growing period for her, in that time she when to rehab and bought her own property.
Speaking to Into the Gloss, she said:
”It’s been such a transitional year for me – I moved out of my parents’ house this year and into my own place.
”Sometimes, I’ll be honest, I don’t handle all of this as well as people think, so it’s been important to really figure out what makes me feel grounded.”
The star now says that she is quite grateful for the opportunities she has been given, but when she was young she didn’t figure it out.
”The older I get, the prouder I am to be a woman in this industry.”
She added: ”When I was younger and running around all the time on tour, I don’t think I took the time to notice how being a woman in my position is really a gift.
”I want to make sure I utilise all that power…All the stuff that I’ve been living [has] been beautiful and awkward and authentic.”
