Sally Field gave moving speech. The former Mrs.Doubtfire actress did while at a Hollywood star unveiling. One of her close friends Jane Fonda was brought to tears when The Flying Nun star Field’s passionate speech was heard at the Walk of Fame. Field was given the 2,524th star to honor her in front of the Hollywood Wax Museum on Monday, May 5, 2014. Actor Beau Bridges spoke about what it was like working with field in 1979 in Norma Rae. Fonda, the On Golden Pond star was filled with emotion when her lifelong friend spoke about her determination to become an actress. She said,
“Yes, so it’s true – 50 years ago this year, I began this journey. I was 17 years old, didn’t have an agent, wasn’t a member of the Screen Actors’ Guild, and all of a sudden, I was the star of a television series.
“To have a long-term career, you have to want what you want, more than you think you’re capable of wanting. You have to constantly step aside of anything having to do with ego, and entitlement, and just head to the work wherever it might be. I’ve ridden the highs, and tried to learn from the lows… I’ve done a love scene with a pelican, but then I’ve also done a love scene with Paul Newman…
“I’ve been fully clothed, semi clothed and fully naked. I’ve worked my whole life and feel the many miles I have accumulated in this saddle, and I can tell your right here and right now I have never, in this last 50 years, never, not once, considered changing my mind.”
