Leslie Jones has joined the cast of ‘Saturday Night Live’. Jones is known as a comedian and actress, and she had been featured performer at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal and the Aspen Comedy Festival and she is a “Saturday Night Live” writer and “Weekend Update” correspondent since 2014 has been given a promotion to be a full-time cast member of the iconic weekly live series, which is now into their fortieth season. Jones is from Memphis. Tennessee and her father worked at Stevie Wonder’s radio station, KJLH, as an electronic engineer, that’s when they moved to Los Angeles.
Jones impressed Michaels so much with her quick wit and comic timing that he offered her a writing job, where she has toiled ever since. But you can’t keep a good woman down and Jones showed that with several hysterical bits as a “Weekend Update” correspondent. Her brash commentary ruffled more than a few feathers and woke up a sleeping segment that has had no interest since Bill Hader’s Stefon.
On October 25, 2014, she will start as a cast member.
