Connie Britton Would Like To Find A Partner And Father Figure

resizedimageConnie Britton would like to find a partner. As she made her film debut in the independent comedy-drama film, The Brothers McMullen she would like to some day find a father figure for her three year old adopted son, Eyob. The Friday Night Lights actress also says that a secure relationship would be ideal, but she is not willing to put any pressure on any potential partners.

The 47-year-old star told the October issue of Redbook magazine:

“I would love to be doing this with a partner, and I want Eyob to have a father figure. But I also know that putting that kind of pressure on myself or on a relationship would be disastrous.”

She added:

“It’s funny–my married friends tell me all the time, ‘What you have is so much easier.’ When you’re doing it on your own, you don’t have to [argue over] how you’re raising the kids.”

Another topic she has spoken about is being a working mother in Hollywood and that she does enjoy dating.

Discussing comments made by Gwyneth Paltrow in the past, who claimed mothers with regular jobs face less challenges, Connie said:

“Our hours are long, but I would never compare what I do to what anyone else does. Everybody’s working hard and doing the best they can–if you’re a mom, there’s that pressure, we all face it. I’m constantly being pulled in different directions. But that’s the thing: Moms are pulled and distracted. I would never say that’s worse for me because I’m an actor. I am actually 100 percent sure all moms feel that way.”

She said:

“I’m not in a full-time relationship right now, but I am [dating]. That’s part of the balancing act, and it’s an important part!”
