Cliff Richard’s home searched by police. He is a British pop singer and third top selling artist in United Kingdom’s history and the seventy three year old’s home is because of a sex offense many years back. The Rock and Roll legend has been reportedly not at his Berkshire, South East, England home when officers began the search of his property, August 14, 2104. Items were also reportedly taken from his residence, reports BBC News.
The search – which is said to have no connection to Operation Yewtree – was sparked after police received an allegation of a sexual nature involving a teenage boy dating from the 1980s.
However, the officers overseeing Yewtree have been notified.
A police spokesman said:
”Police have gained entry to a property in the Sunningdale area of Berkshire. Officers are currently searching the property.
”A search warrant was granted after police received an allegation of a sexual nature dating back to the 1980s involving a boy who was under the age of 16 at the time.
”No one has been arrested and the owner of the property was not present.”
Richards is claiming these are false allegations against him.
