Black Sabbath is to be honoured at Nordoff Robbins Awards.They are an English rock band, which was originally formed by guitarist and main songwriter Tony Iommi, bassist and main lyricist Geezer Butler, singer Ozzy Osbourne, and drummer Bill Ward, will be next month with the Ambassadors of Rock prize at the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clefs Awards.
They have been added to a list of other winners who will attend the ceremony. This has been organized by the charity providing musical therapy over the U.K. for numerous people on July 4, 2014 at the London Hilton on Park Lane. They have been recognized for what they have given to the music industry.
Sixty five year Osbourne spoke to the AEG Live Ambassadors of Rock Award,
”Winning the Ambassadors of Rock award from Nordoff Robbins is a huge honour. Music is our life, and we couldn’t live without it. The world can’t survive without music and this is a very special charity that brings music to everyone.
”There are a lot of talented people already being honoured at the awards and we are looking forward to celebrating with them at the O2 Silver Clefs this summer.”
Also walking away with atrophy will be seventy year old Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page, he will receive a prestigious Silver Clef Award.
He said of his win:
”A big thank you to Nordoff Robbins and everyone involved in awarding me the Silver Clef Award.”
Others which will receive an award include, Tom Jones, Pharrell Williams, Paloma Faith and Laura Mvula.
