Dale Robertson has died, he was eighty nine years of age. The Tales of Wells Fargo and The Iron Horse star passed away of a long illness from complications of lung cancer and pneumonia, while he was hospitalized in San Diego.
He had starred in numerous films when he had started his career in 1948, his first major role was when he portrayed Jesse James in “fighting man of the planes.”
“An actor can change himself to fit a part, whereas a personality has to change the part to fit himself,” commented Robertson in a 1988 interview. Adding, “the personality has to say it his own way.”
He had also been seen in Wells Fargo and Death Valley Days, Dynasty and Dallas, and J. J. Starbuck. Robertson has left behind his wife Susan, two daughters Rochelle and Rebel and one granddaughter. Services will be private.
