Valerie Harper is coming close to remission. The famed Mary Tyler Moore (Rhoda Morgenstern) star is indeed so with her fight against leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, this is according to her doctors, and they say they are amazed at her progress. It had been back in March, 2013 when she had revealed that she was hit with the decease.
This Cancer spreads into the membranes surrounding the brain. She was told she had only three to six months to live. However she sometime got herself a lifeline as medical experts do give her some good news that she has ‘defied the odds’.
Harper had treatment which had included chemotherapy and acupuncture, then in June 2013 where she had been told that she is close to remission. She does however accept that things could turn around, but she says she will stay positive.
“Spontaneous remission lives as a possibility. I mean it, it’s there and I go, ‘Ok’. I think infinite possibility is beautiful in every area. A lot of stuff that looks impossible is not and everyday there’s evidence of it.”
It has also been stated that she is far from clear of cancer, but her life expectancy has been extended. The sevnety four year old will be returning to television on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. She will be joining Dancing with the Stars.
