Stevie Nicks has regrets about not learning more about her late mother. The Fleetwood Mac star known for the hit single ‘Dreams’ does wish that she spent more of her time getting to know her mother Barbara before she died in 2011. She lost her life due to lung disease at the age of eighty four and Nicks does reveals that she was devastated over her death as she had not been prepared to say her goodbyes.
She tells U.S. TV host Oprah Winfrey,
“My mum just passed away in December. She got emphysema and pneumonia and she passed away very unexpectedly, and so I thought I had years left to ask her all those questions that I wanted to ask her, and then she was gone and I didn’t get to.
“It wasn’t because I didn’t want to sit down with her and talk to her about her life, it was just because I didn’t think she was going anywhere.
“I have really been soul searching about the fact that there’s a lot of stuff that I’m never gonna know because I didn’t sit down with her and ask her. And that’s been a very hard lesson for me. So my advice for everybody that still has their parents is, make sure you sit down and talk to them… because you really lose out if you don’t.
“Time waits for no one and things can end tomorrow. So if there’s stuff you wanna know, find out.”
