Samuel L. Jackson reveals ‘I don’t need an Oscar’. the film and television actor and film producer and known for his roles such as Goodfellas, Jungle Fever and Pulp Fiction said not winning an Oscar never bothered him. He had only his lifetime received an Academy award nomination for a supporting role, however he doesn’t feel he needs a gold statue to recognize his work.
“I’ve had a pretty good career,” he said.
“I don’t think it will validate my stature in Hollywood one way or another. I’ve done some pretty interesting things, and it’s been a long and rich career.”
The now sixty four year old had been named back in 2011 the highest grossing star for the success of franchises in which he’s appeared in, such as Star Wars and The Avengers in which Samuel believes is reward enough.
“[Winning an Oscar] is definitely not going to help my box-office record,” he said.
The actor preparing to reprise his role as S.H.I.E.L.D. leader Nick Fury in Captain America sequel The Winter Soldier next year.
“I think I’ve got four or five pictures left on my nine picture deal. I’ll just keep showing up,” he said.
