Showbiz Spy reports:
The former teen star opened up about drugs and booze in a candid new interview with Rolling Stone for the magazine’s July 4 issue.
“I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana — people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don’t care,” she tells Rolling Stone. “I’ve seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I’ve never seen that happen with weed.”
“As long as it isn’t illegal, there are far more dangerous things,” she adds. “And it’s legal in the state of California. So I’m happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be.”
“I’m too honest. But this is who I am,” she said. “I can’t sing We Can’t Stop and then be some shy, closed-off person. The reason I never really loved acting was because you can’t be yourself. I don’t want to be an actor — I want to be an artist.”
“People thought I was gonna be this dumb white girl that was, like twerking around and had no real thoughts,” she says. “Since I was 13, I put my work before everything else in my life. Now that I’m 20, I’m putting my life and my career at the same level of importance.”
