Matt Damon opens up about his wedding renewal. The Good Will Hunting star has revealed that he had to push back his wedding plans to Lucianna Barroso back in 2005 in Florida. He had learned that the paparazzi had found out about the nuptials.
The also Talented Mr. Ripley actor did exchange his vows with the mother of his three children at City Hall in New York City on 9 December, 2005, and again this month, April 13, 2013 in St.Lucia he renewed his vows again.
Damon has expressed that it was important for he and Barroso to cement the relationship in front of family and friends because wife didn’t get the special day she deserved seven years ago. He tells People.com,
“It’s nice to say your vows in front of family. That’s the point of taking the vows. These are people who will hold you to them. One of my vows was I gave her the side of the bed closer to the bathroom. And if I don’t stick to that, I’m gonna hear about that from my mum, brother and father.
“We were gonna get married over Christmas (in 2005), and then somebody got wind of it, and my publicist told me these people are are all going to go down to Miami, where we lived at the time. We thought our whole holiday break was going to get ruined with people hanging around, with helicopters and all that stuff.
“We literally ran to the city and just tied the knot really quickly, just to kind of nip that whole thing in the bud.”
