Barry Manilow has axed a second Broadway gig. The singer-songwriter known for his music such as Mandy, Can’t Smile Without You and Could It Be Magic had scrap his new Broadway residency to as he is battling bronchitis.
He had to pull out of Tuesday night, January 21, 2013 in New York after falling ill with the respiratory condition, according to his doctor he is in fact he is still too sick to hit the stage on Wednesday, January 24, 2013. The singer is hoping to feel better for his Thursday’January 24, 2013 big launch at the St. James Theater.
A message posted on his Facebook.com page on Wednesday afternoon reads:
“On doctors’ orders, tonight’s performance of Manilow On Broadway has been rescheduled. A makeup performance has been added on Wednesday, February 27 at 7:00 pm to accommodate ticket holders.
“Barry thanks everyone for their understanding and is looking forward to returning to the stage of the St. James for tomorrow’s opening night performance….Come hell or high water!”
The veteran singer had a good week as he was honoured with his own street corner in Manhattan on Tuesday morning, January 22, 2013.
