Idris Elba reveals how fame ruined his love life. The British actor, best known for playing the part of (Russell ‘Stringer’ Bell) in The Wire. He expresses that as he became famous his love life slipped away, he misses the days when woman more out there to find.
The also DJ, has an eleven year old daughter called Isan, to whom he shares with his ex wife Dorowa Sherman. He goes onto say the only woman he now gets approached by are autograph hunter.
”Look, you probably think I’m s***ging all the time. But there’s no way.
”They’re all my fans. I miss the days when me and my boys could go to a barbecue, and go, ‘Who’s that shorty [girl] over there?’ ”
Although this the way it is, the forty one year old is thankful for his career standings. and if he never worked again that would be fine for him.
”For me, it’s important I am who I am, as I present this piece to the world. I’m 40 and I’ve had a great career. I’m alright to be myself at this point. Look, if I never work again, I don’t care. I did my bit, you know?”
