Dorothy Hamill quits Dancing with the Stars sue to spinal injury. The figure skater and Olympic Champion on Tuesday, March 27, 2013 and on the first elimination episode Hamil left on her own behalf. The fifty six year old left due to a health issue and had required immediate medical recommendations, giving her choice but to leave the competition.
“I’ve taken the advice of my spine surgeon and I need to withdraw from the competition,” explained Hamill alongside pro partner Tristan McManus during the live show. “I have an injury that could be irreparable. I wish that I could give it my all but I can’t,” she continued. “It’s been wonderful ride.”
“Hamill’s unfortunate departure meant that week’s bottom two teams — Lisa Vanderpump and Gleb Savchenko, Victor Ortiz and Lindsay Arnold — were unexpectedly safe from elimination. For next week’s prom-themed episode, then, all 11 remaining pairs, including celebs Andy Dick, D.L. Hughley, Wynonna Judd and Kellie Pickler, will be back to compete”.
