Billy Currington has been handed probabtion and anger counseling classes over an abuse charge. The country music vocalist, known for his hits such as Good Directions and Party For Two get himself five years of probation and must attend the classes. He had pleaded no contest to a charge of abuse of an elderly person.
What the alleged story is, Currington he had been entangled in an alleged altercation with a seventy year old Georgia boat captain on April 1, 2013. Then a warrant was issue for his arrest. Currington did then surrendered to police the following day and the singer had been released on twenty five thousand dollars (£16,670)bail.
What the charge was possibly facing ten years in jail if a conviction went through , however he was able to strike a plea deal with prosecutors and agreed to serve probation. On Friday, September 27, 2013 he did enter a no contest plea, also another part of his punishment was a fine of one thousand dollars (£670) and told to stay as far away as possible from his alleged victim.
