Joe McElderry has opened up about an ordeal with an obsessed fan. The English singer-songwriter, who is also known for winning the sixth season of the ITv show X factor had been left “shaken and creeped out” when a fan,who was so obsessed went to his mother’s house trying to meet the star. The also twenty one year old ‘Climb ’vocalist had been hounded with abusive messages on Twitter.com by person in question Ennis McBride, who had also showed up at the singer’s doorstep more than time. McBride had been arrested last December 2012, he was convicted of harassment in September,2012, and handed over a five year restraining order to keep him away from the star.
McElderry has now opened up about his ordeal, telling The Sun newspaper,
”It started when Ennis came to my house and asked to speak to me urgently. My best friend answered the door because I was in the bath and obviously said I wasn’t available.”
McBride then turned up at the singer’s mother’s house and McElderry adds,
“I was shaken and creeped out. Mum sounded very alarmed and distressed and told me to lock the doors. A few weeks later I was doing a show and he was there, in the front row. Obviously that spooked me but I just had to carry on performing.
“We called the police but while Mum gave a statement in the house we saw him outside, stood on the corner in the dark. It was creepy, it freaked me out. It isn’t pleasant knowing someone is doing that to you and your family.”
