‘UK Voice’ winner Leanne Mitchell reveals “I didn’t think I had a chance”she even surprised herself that she had won the first series. The ‘Run To You’ singer has spoke up about her astonishment of her winning The Voice, saying she “never saw it coming”.
She had a mentor, it had been‘ legendary singer ‘Tom Jones’ and stunned as the results were said during the final of the BBC singing competition. She said: “I thought, did they just say my name?
“It is such a weird feeling, you can’t really put it into words. It’s just, ‘oh my God, what’s happening?”‘ Mitchell was very impressing during the blind audition part of the show when she sang Beyonce’s song ‘If I Were a Boy’. Last night’s live show showed that she could really sing when she delivered the song It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World and Run To You. she has also sang with Jones himself ‘Mama Told Me Not To Come.
After the result was announced, Sir Tom said:
“This confirms that there is justice in this world.” Twenty eight year old Mitchelle has said “I am starting to believe in myself.” “what just happened”.”I never saw it coming,” she added. “I think every time I was getting a stage closer, it was another shock. “I can’t really take it all in at the moment.”
But she said her mentor was,
”really pleased”, adding: “He said he was really proud.”
Recalling the final, she said:
“All day we were in rehearsals, all day and all week, and myself, along with the other guys, we just wanted to enjoy it.
“I just wanted to try and savour it and enjoy the night and not let nerves get in the way too much.
“I was nervous, I got more nervous as the night went on.”
She said performing her final song, as her husband Rob looked on in the audience, was “really emotional”.
“I haven’t spoken to the record company yet but it would be nice to hear what they have in mind,” she said.
“I would love to make an album.”
“I think they are going to have huge careers anyway.
