‘Bones’ star Ryan O’Neal‘s painting lawsuit is heading for trial. The former ‘Paper Moon and Love Story’ actor will be in a fight due to an an Andy Warhol portrait of his late love the unforgettable Farrah Fawcett.
A judge did reject the star’s bid to dismiss the law-suit against him. Officials at the University of Texas are claiming that an estimate value for it is around thirty million dollars (£18.75 million), and it is theirs. What happened the ‘Charlie Angels star had reportedly given her entire collection of art to the institution following her death in 2009.
The piece is one of two Fawcett portraits by Warhol – one is hanging in the university’s gallery, while O’Neal also does claim that in fact she had be given the picture as they were very close.
University officials filed a suit against the star and the case did go to court in Los Angeles this week (ends28Oct12). On Wednesday (24Oct12), Superior Court judge Maureen Duff-Lewis rejected O’Neal‘s motion to dismiss and she ordered the case to go to trial next month November 12, 2012, according to Celebuzz.com.
