The ‘Noah’ star Russell Crowe got stranded and had to assisted by the coastguard over the weekend on September 1, 2012, this is according to local reports. He was kayaking with a friend off the waters off New York’s Long Island when this happened. The two of them were taken to the harbour by a rescue boat.
The US coast guard was supervising the area, and heard the star call out to them from the shore around ten PM and made his way over to their boat. Petty officer Robert Swieciki said the pair just got lost as the evening became darker in Huntington Bay, about ten miles from where they first started. Swieciki said:
“He just needed a little bit of help, he just got a little lost. It wasn’t really a rescue, really, more of just giving someone a lift.”
The coast guard described Crowe as “grateful and friendly” and the star then took to Twitter to thank his rescuers on.
