British singer-songwriter Rod Stewart has fallen to sick for Hall of Fame Induction. For this he will have to change his plans The Faces reunion at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Ohio on Saturday April 14, 2012.
The Maggie May singer had been scheduled to go on stage with Ronnie Wood, Kenney Jones and Ian MCLagan, his former band mates after the group was inducted to the museum.
But he unfortunately can not fight off a heavy duty cold and for his publicist has announced Stewart will not attend the gala. A statement from his rep reads,
”Unfortunately Rod is battling the flu this week and regrettably he is unable to accept his induction in person in Cleveland.”
“I’m absolutely devastated, shattered that I’m going to miss my second induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame – and this time alongside my mates.”
The rest of the band will go on stage with former Simply Red singer Mick Hucknall, who joined the group in 2010 for a series of shows after Stewart declined to be part of a reunion.
A Hall of Fame spokesman says,
“The Faces will play a short set after they are inducted with Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall singing vocals. He’s a friend of the band and has played with them before. We are thrilled that Mick dropped everything to hop on a plane to be here to play with Faces on Saturday night.”
