‘Hard Rock Musician’ Meat Loaf is going after an impersonator of the same name. he has put claim fourth that is jut a cyber squatter, hijacking the web site MeatLoaf.org … and refusing to give it back.
Meat Loaf (Michael Aday) has filed the filed the lawsuit against Dean Torkington in Los Angeles County Superior Court, he is claiming that Torkington registered MeatLoaf.org in “bad faith,” and has since exploited the domain name to mislead and confuse Meat Loaf fans into thinking he’s the real singer.
What Torkington is doing in the U.K. is is trying to promote his act which is called,
“To Hell and Back: A Tribute to Meat Loaf.”
Meat Loaf has also expressed that Torkington has no right to own or use the domain name, and is currently breaking the law by cybersquatting … in violation of the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act. Meat Loaf wants Torkington to shut down his website and hand over the domain. He also wants one hundred thousand dollars in damages.
Calls to Torkington have not been yet returned.
