‘John Mayer’ seems to be in the middle of a lawsuit which exceeds a one hundred million dollars Ponzi scheme and what it says according to documents is that the singer may allegedly be in possession of as much as four hundred and sixty five thousand dollars in dirty money.
Here is how the story has unfolded a large scheme in Seattle had came to an end just earlier this year when the person who ran the show, the person in question is called Darren Berg had been sentenced to eighteen years in prison for his part in stealing more than one hundred million dollars through his investment company.
Now the next step is trustees who are in chare trying to recover the stolen money are trying to track where those millions have gone — and are suing everyone they can along the way in order to recover it. Now according to some new legal docs, one of the people who had received funds from Berg’s Ponzi scheme just happens to be John Mayer — when a booking agency was allegedly paid by Berg’s company. It is not to clear why or what connection lies between booking agency and Berg’s investment company … but the musician has become a target in this desperate money grab.
According to the docs, the booking agency Grabow & Associates — and Mayer by extension — are in possession of as much as that four hundred and sixty five thousand dollars from Berg’s Ponzi scheme.
Mayer’s lawyer tells TMZ,
”John Mayer performed at a corporate event in 2008 and was paid for his services. The opportunity was brought to John through his talent agency, CAA.”
A judge has yet to rule on the case.
