American recording artist, actress and spokesperson, Jennifer Hudson, is going be questioned in her family’s murder trial. It has been stated that defense attorney for William Balfour, the man who is in fact accused of killing three of Hudson’s family members, would definitely like to be able to question the former ‘American Idol ‘singer , this according to the Chicago Sun Times.
What Amy Thompson would like to do is have a chance to speak to the’Dreamgirls’actress to discuss a possible text message exchange with Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson, just before her death.
This news comes along now as Thompson and prosecutors do debate whether or not there is “enough probable cause” for Balfour’s arrest on October 24, 2008 — the day of the murders. Balfour’s attorney does say that at the time the arrest occurred, nothing illegal went on, they are asking for the arrest to be dismissed from the case.
However, the Assistant State’s Attorney, James McKay, is asking the judge to review the police testimonies which do detail Balfour’s alleged constant threats to kill Julia Hudson in the days before the murders.
He stands accused of slaying Hudson’s mother, brother, and her seven-year-old nephew, Julian King.
The trial is set for April.
