Former ‘Neighbours’ actor Jason Donovan battles to keep sober. The Australian actor and singer still does go through the struggles to stay clean after he had beat his drug addiction, he insists that temptation to fall off the wagon is “always there”.
His habit towards drugs took took a big down turn and dangerously went out of control back in the 1990‘s before recovering in 2000, and now goes on to stay it is hard every day for him to stay on that track to stay sober.
He tells Piers Morgan’s Life Stories,
“Temptation is always there with everything in life.”
He also recalls the night he party hard snorting to much of a drug landing himself in the hospital. He recalls,
”I’d been in Sydney taking drugs and then I flew to L.A. I got hold of some coke there, I’m jet-lagged, it’s an extremely strong consistency of the drug and I spent my entire time in the hotel room. The only time I went out was to the party. (Collapsing) was an embarrassing situation to be in but I was a drug addict at the time.”
Donovan even indulged in more of the drug after receiving treatment, adding,
”I just went back to the hotel after they’d checked me out of the hospital and got back on it. You don’t think rationally when you’re on drugs. They control your world. It’s sad, extremely sad.”
