‘Dad’s Army’ Actor Philip Madoc Has Died, He Was Seventy Seven!

Welsh’ actor Philip Madoc has passed away he was seventy seven, he died on March 5, 2012. Madoc was best remembered for his roles in Dad’s Army and The Life and Times of David Lloyd George.

Madoc’s agent Michael Hallet has let fans know that it happened at the Hertfordshire hospice, after suffering a short illness, BBC News reports today. He had was divorced and had two children and five grandchildren.

The director of BBC Cymru Wales, Rhodri Talfan Davies, paid tribute to the late actor, saying that he was

“a man of phenomenal talent. [he] leaves a rich legacy of work – in both drama and comedy – and will be much missed.”
