The ‘Barefoot Blue Jean Night’ singer had been snowboarding in Crested Butte, Colorado last month January 12, 2012. What has happened is that he hit a block of ice, causing serious injury.
For this he had to cancel upcoming shows while he needed to heal. Well his recovery was quick, and he had played for a sold-out crowd in Dallas, Texas on Friday February 3, 2012, and another packed house in Norman, Oklahoma the following night February 4, 2012.
He tells Taste of Country.com,
“I’m thrilled to be back out on the road. And to have sold-out shows our first weekend back is such an awesome feeling.”
And the musician admits he’s glad to be out of the house:
”I’m not very good at sitting around the house taking it easy. I had eight screws and a metal plate put in to repair my collarbone, so I’ve had to spend a lot of time at doctor’s appointments and physical therapy sessions over the past few weeks. Getting back out onstage was the best therapy I’ve had.”
