AMC Orders New Drama ‘Low Winter Sun’ 2013 Premiere! (Watch Video)

AMC, has picked up ‘Low Winter Sun’ for their 2013 premiere. The original series will be a ten episode run. The plot is an adaptation of a 2006 British miniseries, stars Mark Strong (“Zero Dark Thirty,” “Green Lantern,” “Sherlock Holmes“) is about murder deception, revenge and corruption that starts with the murder of a cop by fellow Detroit detective, Frank Agnew.

Lennie James (“Jericho,” “The Walking Dead”) also stars. “Criminal Minds” writer-producer Chris Mundy wrote the pilot and will serve as show-runner. Endemol Studios and AMC are Co-producing the series.

Endemol and Chris Mundy have produced a beautiful pilot with an incredible cast led by the insanely talented Mark Strong,” says Joel Stillerman, AMC‘s head of original programming. “We’re thrilled to be moving forward with this compelling and intense new drama and look forward to returning to Detroit for production on the first season”.

As of yet there is now news of a start date.
